While I have been feverishly working my fingers to the bone here at my sewing machine, My house guest just hung around, made a few friends, and helped me where ever I needed her.
She had decided to come over, and spend some time with us, over the 4th of July WEEKEND but she had some trouble finding us and just didn't make it in time to join us on our trip to PA Dutch Country, but once we returned, she was here siting on my front porch ready to have a blast, and make new friends. Betty, also told me about this wonderful charity she works for, They collect new Pj's and sweet story books for children in need, and explained this all to my girls and made them realize that they are so so lucky to have nice clean pj's to sleep in every night, as well as a wealth of knowledge in all the books we have here in our home library. SO, after thinking about it, My girls decided they wanted to share their wealth, and send Betty home with a few books to share with those people she has been working with to collect these books and pj's. Christina and Rebecca hope the children that receive our books enjoy them. The girls picked them out themselves, and actually wished they could send more, but Betty's bag was full and she had way too much to carry!Betty also asked that we take a few pictures of her while she was here so she could make Megan jealous! You see, I don't know if you all know this but I am a handbag designer. I am the designer and owner of the hip and cool website, Bella Boutique Creations, Where it's all about the bags! I create beautiful bags for ladies of all ages, in all shapes colors and sizes. NOW, what girl doesn't love a new bag............ And to actually learn to make a bag, now that is just like being a kid in a candy store!
Not only did Betty help me pick up cuttings from the floor, hang around , the sewing studio and watch intently my every cut and snip ( I'd swear that she wants to make bags too the way she watched and took notes,) She actually was able to make herself a new bag. Granted, its not as good as my bags, but I have to admit, for a beginner, she did an awesome job! It was the perfect size for her to put her sunglasses, sunscreen , and her cellphone in, and still have room for a few more girl essentials.
She even made a mermaid friend! You see, My Rebecca is a fanatic about Mermaids, and we were working on a bag for her very good friend that has not been well this Summer, and Betty just had to "throw herself into her work" and be the good guest and keep our sweet Euro Mermaid company while I cut and stitched up this bag!
Unfortunately, all good things do come to an end, and Betty had to bid her farewells, BUT, I think as you can see, She had a wonderful stay here with us in New Jersey. She made new friends, She helped me reinforce how important it is to help our neighbors, even when we do not know who they are, picked up a few books for some really deserving kids, AND Girlfriend got a bag out of the deal for herself too!After she left, It occured to me that MAYBE I should have sent a little bag to Megan too. I really didn't want her to be jealous and If I know Betty, I bet she was flaunting that cool bag and still is! Though we all thanked her for her visit, I'd like to again Thank Betty and Megan for letting Betty come over and hang with us these past few days, and let them know that She is welcomed here any time!Thanks Betty and Megan!
